Attorney – China Litigation & Transactional Matters


  • Provide clients with China litigation and arbitration strategies and assistance.
  • Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses.
  • Research substantive law regarding contracts, business torts and other issues in litigation and research procedural rules for local, state and federal courts.
  • Research Chinese laws regarding contract, employment, product liability, trademark, cybersecurity, litigation procedures, and enforcement of foreign judgment and arbitration awards in China in order to advise clients.
  • Provide legal counsel regarding entity formation and operations in China, and draft related agreements/documents.
  • Prepare, review and negotiate China-related contracts, such as contract manufacturing agreements, confidentiality agreements, product purchase, distribution and resell, employee incentive plans, equity/asset purchase and sale, licensing agreements, employment contracts and employee handbooks, office/equipment lease agreements, service agreements and other business agreements; advise clients on related issues.
  • Translate legal documents from English to Chinese and vice versa; review translations.
  • Advise domestic and foreign companies on U.S. corporate and transactional matters: entity formation, debt and equity financing, mergers and acquisitions, company compliance, and business transactions.

Educational & Experience Requirement

Law degree from the United States of America (JD/LLM) PLUS 2 years (24 months) of post graduate law firm experience conducting legal research and assisting attorneys in providing strategic advice to clients. Experience must include 12 months drafting litigation demand letters, written discovery, and various motions.

Skills Required

  • Licensed by, and in good standing to practice law in, the state of Washington.
  • Law degree from China (LLB/LLM).
