They Said It On Marijuana, Quotable Saturday, Part LXXI

This week we could not resist pulling quotes from two people who we the taxpayers pay to serve us. And serve us they have.

The first is from Chuck Rosenberg, the acting head of the DEA. At a news conference, Rosenberg revealed that he didn’t know whether marijuana was as dangerous as heroin because he’s no expert:

“Rosenberg said. ‘Do I think it’s [marijuana] as dangerous as heroin? Probably not. I’m not an expert.’

Not to be outdone by Rosenberg, in the very same week, Boston Police Commissioner William Evans revealed that he believes that legalizing marijuana will lead “city kids” [is that his euphemism for African-Americans?] to engage in home invasions:

“Boston Police Commissioner William Evans told Boston Herald Radio’s ‘Morning Meeting’ show that one of his security concerns over the idea of legalizing marijuana in Massachusetts is the connection he says exists between the drug and home invasions in the state.

‘A lot of home invasions seem to revolve around someone smoking marijuana, young college kids tying to supplement their income,’ he said. ‘We get a half-dozen every year where they invite regular city kids over and next thing you know, their door is getting knocked down and they are getting robbed.’

Can our various governments not do any better than these two?
