Rick Perry on Marijuana

Crucial to understanding federalism in modern day America is the concept of mobility, or ‘the ability to vote with your feet.’ If you don’t support the death penalty and citizens packing a pistol – don’t come to Texas. If you don’t like medicinal marijuana and gay marriage, don’t move to California.

Texas Governor Rick Perry

Not exactly what we want to hear but from him we will take half a loaf. Perry is saying that each state should decide for itself on marijuana and we buy that to the extent that no state ought to be able to sue another state for its position on marijuana.  But if Rick Perry truly believes in freedom of choice, he ought to go one step further by calling for allowing each adult within each state to decide for him or herself regarding marijuana.

Still it’s Governor Rick Perry and the mere fact that he is not calling for a nationwide crackdown on cannabis is at least a small step in the right direction.  I mean, it could be worse, right?

What our your thoughts?

  1. My thoughts are you are way off topic, and you need to hire me as your editor? Who’s doing your ghost writing for you? I can do ten trillion times better than this anti republican drivel.
