They Said It On Marijuana, Quotable Saturday, Part L

I have seen ‘rabbits that had cultivated a taste for the marijuana … One of them refused to leave us, and we took all the marijuana around him, but his natural instincts to run were somehow gone.’

Marijuana and RabbitsMatt Fairbanks, special agent for DEA, testifying before the Utah Legislature on why marijuana should not be legalized there.

Okay.

Do rabbits cultivate a taste for marijuana? It is possible that some might, but this argument is irrelevant. What this agent fails to realize is that illegal marijuana is far more likely to be grown in the wild than legal marijuana.

What made this statement go viral is that it so nicely illustrates how desperate the anti-marijuana crowd has become. It has realized that its reefer madness pronouncements are failing and so it has moved on to rabbit madness pronouncements. Legalization is coming down the rabbit trail people and comments like this serve only to speed that up.
