Judge Young made this statement in 1988 and yet medical marijuana remains illegal in half of the United States, as well as most other places in the world. Though research supports Jduge Young’s assertion that marijuana is safe, natural, and effective as medicine, the DEA continues to classify marijuana as a Schedule I drug, meaning cannabis has no medical efficacy.
Keeping cannabis illegal is not based on science and it is no longer based on the opinion of the majority of Americans. What will it take for cannabis to be legalized?
It can start with you. If you’re in one of the nine states voting to legalize cannabis in one form or another this November, you must get out and vote. It has been nearly three decades since Judge Young made the above statement and we are still “not there” yet. But that time is getting closer and if we can convert many more states to “legalized” next month, the tipping point for our entire country will be near.
Vote, vote, vote. Please.
