Marijuana Legalization

Though last Saturday we spoke on the significance of medical marijuana and the injustice of denying a multitude of patients their medicine, it is also important to consider the reasons why recreational marijuana is still illegal in most places. Who benefits from keeping marijuana illegal? Who would benefit from its legalization? Is it okay to want it legalized simply because many find marijuana enjoyable?

Of course it is. It has been consistently proven that marijuana is better for you than alcohol and tobacco (both of which are very much legal), and many have commented on how it can expand your perspective. Here, Kurt Vonnegut asserts that marijuana can contribute to a more bearable existence.
